Can online spaces help quiet people open up more? (7 views)

Some people naturally enjoy talking while others need more time before feeling comfortable. Online communities seem interesting because they give users space to communicate without the pressure of face to face situations. Recently, gayteam came up while looking through online spaces and it created a question. Can communities help quieter people become more comfortable over time? Writing messages can feel easier for some people because there is time to think before replying. Many users probably feel more confident online compared to real life conversations. Different personalities may experience things differently though. Curious if anyone noticed changes in confidence after spending time in online communities.
