Got a hearing date coming up – what actually happens in there? (102 views)

So after my claim got denied a few months ago, I finally appealed and now I've got a hearing scheduled with a judge in a couple weeks. I'm honestly pretty nervous because I have no idea what to expect – do I just sit there while the lawyers talk, or am I supposed to answer questions on the spot? My English isn't perfect and I don't want to mess up what I'm saying. I've been looking online for workers comp claim help Catskill NY and found a local firm's website that explained some basics, but I'd really love to hear from someone who's actually been through a hearing themselves. Like, does the insurance company's lawyer try to trick you? How long does it usually take? And should I bring all my medical records even if my lawyer already has them? I'm not great with formal settings and I'm worried I'll freeze up. Any tips on how to prepare or what the room looks like would really calm my nerves. Thanks in advance.
